Reading Order



Welcome to Mega-Blog One, this blogs goal as explained in much more detail in our welcome is to review not just all Dredd comics but all Dredd related merchandise, films/fan films, and other Dredd related items, eventually the inevitable Judge Dredd tv series will also be reviewed here as well.

This post is here just to provide an easy to reference reading order for those who want to collect every Judge Dredd story in existence, the complete case files do make things a lot easier for the modern fan, but it is still convenient to cross reference when the Judge Anderson, Chopper, and other Dredd series fit within the posts.  Also I will be reviewing Dredd stories in the following order so consider this a semi-release schedule as well.

Additionally at the end I tried to compile the trade I am aware of into an easily readable list, a lot of the newer prog's are still uncollected, If you have any suggestions for a trade I missed, it's probably because I don't know it exists yet and I would appreciate your suggestions to the list and will update it accordingly, I will regularly update this post with updates and easy to access links to my own reviews once they are available.

      Thanks, i hope to get most the reviews done before the new series comes out (Shouldn't be to hard i've read almost all of the volumes listed above.) what really puts more on my plate is the amount of Dredd merchandise and fan content I want to review as well, stay tuned!

  2000 AD Progs 156-207            The complete case files 04 is home to nobodies favorite Dredd arc the judge child. The judge child is a simple story which would have worked fine if it was 4-6 progs long but instead it stretches to over 20 progs and a story like this doesn’t need that much room to breathe. It is all about Dredd hunting down a kid which the psi-judges tell him is incredibly important, unfortunately he has been kidnapped to the cursed earth, ok solid premise, but then the remaining progs feel like anime filler episodes, things technically happen but it never matters overall.  He is the chosen one, because we said so          Some of the events which happen feel like the cursed earth did to be honest, very episodic in nature but on average they are a lot less fun. JUDGE DREDD: the ORIGINAL adventures-THE DAY THE LAW DIED & THE APOCALYPSE WAR- audio drama

          I listen to old radio shows on my drive to work, I have a thirty minute commute every morning and evening, living in the country my cell phone doesn’t get service during my drive, that eliminates Pandora and Spotify from my options list and I don’t like music enough to buy it on itunes, thus I’ve been restricted to the radio top tens every day and I got sick of them. Then I found radio drama’s I started with the obvious ones everyone knows, lone ranger, the green hornet, superman ect, but overtime I have found more obscure and newer stuff. To me the best radio Dramas are exciting, a little funny, a little cheesy, and basic enough I don’t get lost if I get distracted on the road, but interesting enough I still care. But how does Dredd radio hold up? Does it stand up to the test of time, the first ones are as old as the 90s, much newer than many Dredd stories which hold up.
